Why is venser shaper savant good

I understand why the Karakas plan is great it is especially good in the head-to-head , but overall I prefer the elegance of simplicity. I prefer to win games with Jace and Mentor , and both cards are effective at doing just that. The upside is that both cards are inherently powerful but both cards need setup to be effective, whereas Clique and Venser require little-to-no setup and interact immediately.

It matters when you are up against the clock. I really like Ensnaring Bridge right now as a pseudo- Moat. Moat is mostly an Eldrazi card, and Bridge is functionally similar. I love the fact that it comes down a full turn faster, which matters in a world of Thought-Knot Seer. It is also sick that it survives All is Dust. Sneak and Show is making a comeback, and Bridge is a straight-up all-star there as well, while Moat does basically less than nothing against Flying Spaghetti Monsters.

Last but not least, Bridge has really nice synergy with Mentors because you can sculpt your hand size to allow Mentor and the Monks to attack. Death and Taxes got a lot of powerful new tools in the past year. The most important of which is Sanctum Prelate. One common endgame that you should be aware of is that Prelate naming 6 to stop Terminus and a Mother of Runes White Warding Swords to Plowshares is pretty tough to break up.

You need answers, and Miracles provides them. I tried not to be too biased when describing the various versions of the deck, but it should be pretty clear that I have a preference for my list. The Karakas version of the deck has advantages that are hard to argue with! Miracles is a great deck and has a lot of options.

The most important factor is to be comfortable with the list. Skip to content. Buy This List. Creatures 2 x Monastery Mentor 2 x Snapcaster Mage. Do you preper control, combo pieces or do you wanna to set the pace with a fast paced creature pressure, that will drive your adversary to give up Balance your deck out and place your deck in the golden spot.

The diamond spot between control decks and combo decks are the king of commander. But there are also likewise strong strategies in other directions, like adaptability which is very important when not playing one-on-one. Ifyou are making a Venser, Shaper Savant deck, you must focus on one synergy.

It does not mean that you cannot have subthemes. But watch out not to diffuse your primary focus. Sub strategies can in best case work isolated, but also as support for your primary strategy. This will take time to learn. For all colour, there are cards, that are so good, that all EDH decks should have these cards — no matter which commander you are using. Typically green has ramp, blue has counter spell, card draw or mass bounce.

Red has some useful combo pieces and black got tutors. Finally white has board wipes and tokens. This was only to mention a few of them. You will also need some critical artifacts, like Skull clamp. If you constantly choose those cards — all your edh decks will look similar and get very monotonous.

When considering cards you should naturally concentrate on CMC. If we do not consider synergy to your commander, you should consider on 2 angles, when chosing cards. The upper outcome and 2.

Other cards like a counter spell got a obvious little upper level effect. Then we got the minimum effect. A mass removal has a minimum effect of nothing — thus there might not be any creatures on the battlefield when the spell resolves. Other cards like spot removal are more unrisky to play and takes effect promptly, which increases the minimum effect. Aim for a card, that works both directions if possible.

It is good idea to have a diverse blend of cards with the two advantages, and even better to have cards, that works in both ways in some level. It is fun to win. But the feeling will be replaced with acrimony, if your opponent disrespect your win. Some combokills are more likeable than others. Here are some piece of advice about which combo wins to skip out on:.

No one love to wait for everlasting turns.
