The area is heavily populated with zombies, so if you would like to salvage their items, I would recomend bringing a few Hercules to extend your maximum weight load. It is also possible to sneak into the area and use a silenced weapon to eliminate any enemies you encounter without alerting all of the others. At the Sawmill, there will be a house next to the main storage barn. There will be a ladder inside which will bring you to the attic which contains the basic tools at the end on a table, and other various items of value by the crates.

The fine tools in Zaton are located at the Substation Workshops. Before you go to the workshops, bring atleast 6 food items because as soon as you arive in the general area of the front entrance, a mercenary will open a dialogue box explaining he needs food in order to let you in.

Do not attack him or anyone else as the tools will disapear. Once you give him the food, continue to the end until you see a mercenary sitting on a box, which the tools for fine work will be located next to him. The basic tools in Yanov are located under a bridge with train cars under it, specificly the train car with a moving electric anomaly in it. Jump off the bridge onto the top of the train car and enter it through a top hatch.

At the end there will be the tools to your left on the seats. To pass the electric anomaly, move into the little crevices between train cars. The alternate way is to just run through it, but you would loose a bit of health.

The fine tools in Yanov are located at the Jupiter Plant. Next to the main part of the plant on the bottem left corner there will be a little workshop. When you enter, go up the stairs on the left into an attic with a large number of electric anomolies. At the end there will be a green metal cabinet which will contain the tools. A ladder is inside one of the rooms, and in the attic it leads to the player can find ammunition for each assault rifle type, several hand grenades, and medical supplies - the toolkit is on a table at the far end.

Comparatively more dangerous, getting the Yanov toolkit requires playing a game of chicken with a mobile Electro anomaly - even in a SEVA Suit , getting so much as scratched will induce serious bodily harm, and quite likely, death. By following the tracks away from Yanov station to the south, the player will come across an immobile train. By climbing onto the bridge over it, they can hop down onto the train and run to the end, where an open hatch will drop them down into the train itself.

Immediately stepping to the side into the doorways or crouch-jumping onto the train's seats is the only way to avoid the anomaly. Once it reaches the player's end, it will start moving back, and the player needs to follow it. Once they get to the next set of doors, they once again need to move to the side into the doorway to avoid electrocution.

Once the electrical anomaly reaches the end and starts moving back towards the player, and then passes by, the player can sprint to the end - stopping to grab the toolkit from the last seat on the left.
